Restoration Cost Analysis Examples

When you send me a set for restoration, the first thing I do is count up the paper and filter capacitors. I take that number and multiply by $5.49. This determines the labor.

Then I list the value of each capacitor, it's price and add up the prices.  This determines parts.

I have 3 actual examples of how I do this.  I'll add more as time goes on.  If you want to make a request please send me an e-mail or call me.   If I have the schematic for your set I will post another cost analysis and put the link to it on this page.

If you have one of these sets, then you are in luck.  Just click on one of the links for an instant estimate.

You can also get a rough idea of what it would cost to get a similar set restored.

One set, the Admiral 6EI is a Luggage type portable from the late 40s.  The second set is a Philco 46-420 table radio and last is an RCA 59AV1 Console set.

Click on one of the links below to take a look at a cost analysis.  Includes  pictures of the sets.

I don't remember exactly when this page was created on the Borg website. But it was updated on October 27th 2007 at about 20 to 12 AM.
