All American Chassis
The best way to describe what one of these looks like is to show pictures of one. These chassis usually do not contain a power transformer. There is sometimes a speaker matching transformer on the chassis, and sometimes it’s attached to the speaker to save space.
This is a typical 5 tube chassis that takes miniature tubes:
This is a view from the back with the antenna taken off. The tuning capacitor is on the left. The dial lamp is above it. The two wires sticking up on the right connect to a speaker. To the right and left of the tuning capacitor are I. F. (intermediate Frequency) transformers.
